It runs on your computer. AICW sends questions to selected AI models via selected AI model provider - check Terms of Use and Privacy Policy of these providers for more information.

Some providers may offer free access to certain AI models (for example, foundation models such as Llama, Qwen). Even when costs apply, the total can be very low – often just a few cents for small research projects.
Example: For a project using 5 questions to query 3 major AI models (ChatGPT with search, Claude Sonnet with search, and Perplexity AI Sonar with search), plus OpenAI 4o-mini for enrichment/analysis, the total cost via OpenRouter as the AI provider was about $0.30 (30 cents).
